Vintage AMSCO Supermarket Grocery Store Playset 1969 - VIDEO

I love teeny tiny things!  This little supermarket is so cute.  It came almost complete, only missing some of the groceries but I had some in my collection that fit perfectly.  The scale and the cash register really work and there are even coins in the register.

Ideal Tammy - The Doll You Love.....To Dress

Maybe you won't love Tammy as much, but you will love to dress her!  Seems like an odd tag line for Tammy.  I love that her family were all made into dolls too and that she looks more like a real teenage girl than Barbie even did.  Her outfits aren't really that exciting though.  Some of them cost as much as $4, that is a lot of money for 196?.

Big Eyes!!!

The new movie Big Eyes came out over Christmas.  It's directed by Tim Burton, who I love to pieces, and stars Amy Adams(Love her too!).  The movie was fantastic, dramatic and dark at times. It definitely had some subtle Tim Burton touches, but no burning windmills.

The movie follows the story of an artist, Margaret Keane.  Her husband steals the credit for her paintings and she lets it happen for over a decade until they divorce.  Many people still don't realize that she did the paintings, not her husband Walter.  They started a movement that became wildly popular and spawned lots of knock-offs.  Posters, cards, puzzles, and even a doll, Blythe!

My sister collects Big Eyed girls, "but not Keane (Margaret Keane the original painter) because they are too dark and creepy."  She prefers the sweeter girls in harlequin outfits and playing guitars or dressed as sad ballerinas.

Bonnie & Clyde Smug Mug by Kitty Vintage 1970's Big Eyed Girl Orange 70's Style Kitschy FUN
I've got this little beauty in my Etsy shop, Vintage Toy Addict right now.  Also not her style, but so randomly odd I had to list it.  It's a big eyed Bonnie, ftrom Bonnie and Clyde fame.  She is holing a violin case, presumably filled with machine guns, and standing in from of a 30's style car she will soon die in.  It's so random and weird!

Play Kitchens

I love, love, love vintage play kitchens.  Especially dollhouse size!  I have a few pieces from the 40's and 50's that I think are just adorable.  I have only recently started collecting these, so I'm still trying to figure out what I want and what I have space to display.  I recently bought this ADORABLE Deluxe Dream Kitchen that is the size of Barbie, Tammy, and other similar size fashion dolls.  It's super cute, but much too big.  My sister came over and we played Barbies!
We got them all set up and I took tons of photos.  I am listing it for sale because it doesn't really fit in with my other dollhouse size toys.  It will be sad to see it go. I guess if I kept everything I ever wanted to, they would have to do an episode of Hoarders about me.

My nephews once played with my Strawberry Shortcake dolls.  They were certain because all they were doing was dressing them and brushing their hair, they weren't really playing with them.  I told them that's pretty much what we do when we play with them.  Getting their hair, outfits and house set up is all the fun part!  They immediately dropped the dolls and went upstairs to play with trucks!
