16mm Theater "Braverman's Condensed Cream of Beatles"

As a fan of 16mm educational films, sometimes you have to scratch your head and wonder how this film had any educational value in a classroom.  This one, I guess, could be considered art in 1973.  It certainly would speak to 1973 art today!

This film, Condendsed Cream of Beatles, is an art film about (Drum roll please........)  The Beatles.  The film includes music, lots of fast moving images, television and interview clips.  Apparently this film has created quite the conspiracy theory stir about Paul McCartney really being dead and has images to back it up.

The theories were all disproved by searching for the original images.  But people enjoy their theories, don't they.

Iamaphoney: Braverman's Condensed Cream of Beatles  This blog talks about the theories and shows the real images.

When I watched it, I was just trying to get good images of the Beatles themselves.  I guess I missed the clues about Paul.

Maybe the Dog knows?

Does this mean Paul is stuck(like gum) in another body?
I do have this film available for sale on Ebay starting April 29.  If you have to see the evidence for yourself, you may want to snatch it up!  Sorry, YouTube has removed the full video due to copyright concerns.

16mm Theater "Chicken Power, A Fowl Look at Economics"

I just can't get enough of 16mm films!  The simple joy of sitting in your classroom on a Friday afternoon watching films so that your teacher can take a break.  The click, click, click of the projector, or getting to be the lucky kid who gets to load or rewind the film, good times!

This film stars the SAN DIEGO Chicken!  It's called, "Chickenpower, A Fowl Look at Economics".  Basically the film is trying to convince us that it is a good thing that gas and energy prices have gone up!  Yeah right!  This is the late 70's when gas prices tripled.  They say that now that prices have gone up we will learn to conserve gas and energy.  Cut to over 30 years later and we are still working on it.

The San Diego Chicken has his own radio show!  Who knew?  I didn't think he talked.

When the Chicken goes to the store and can't find his favorite bird seed, and he is outraged!

Can you believe how much it costs to power the Chickenmobile? The San Diego Chicken must find a better way to get to the ball park.

He could try the bus, but the fans will mob him!
He could try hitch hiking, but it's dangerous!  The driver is eating a bucket of Chicken! YIKES!
He could make some new friends by hopping on the back of a Chicken truck.

Energy efficient modes of transportation took the Chicken too long to get to the field.  The game is already over and the San Diego Chicken gets a stern talking to by the owner of the team!

The San Diego Chicken get a scooter to save money and get to the game on time!

But, at home the electric and gas bill is too high also!

So, the San Diego Chicken goes out and buys an Energy Saving Wood Stove to warm the coop.

But them he has to chop his own wood!

Then he tries to insulate the coop, but that's not so easy either!

I guess he's going to have to turn down the heat in the bird bath.

Bon Jovi advertises for ... Aspirin?

Jon Bon Jovi talking about his aches and pains?  Seriously, this makes me feel old!

This is a photo of me and my Aunt and Cousin at the Bon Jovi concert in 1988.  I was in Junior High and it was the talk of the school.  Everyone wanted to go, everyone was talking about who had tickets, who was rumored to have front row tickets, or who knew someone who knew someone who was going to get backstage and meet the band.  Most kids didn't get to go to the show.  It was on a school night, it cost like $25, which was a fortune for a concert ticket, and it was finals week.  Cool thing about my mom was that she would let me skip school and stay up late to go to something as important as a concert!  I even got a t-shirt, which cost as much as a concert ticket.  I wanted to figure out a way to wear it all the time, so I started using it as my PE shirt.  It made me cool for about 3 days.  That was pretty good for a kid who did not feel cool.  It might have had something to do with the mullet I was rockkin'.
